Kaya Peters hat seinen Master in Urbanistik abgeschlossen und studiert derzeit Medienkunst / Mediengestaltung (M.F.A.) an der Bauhaus-Universität in Weimar mit den Schwerpunkten Klang- und Radiokunst. Seine Interessen liegen in den Brüchen und neuen Impulsen von Erinnerungskulturen, der kritischen Auseinandersetzung mit Migrationsregimen, den Auswirkungen sozialer Bewegungen und den Verhandlungen einer postmigrantischen Gesellschaft.

I am sorry it took me so long to get back to you. This week has been a bit hectic.
I have attached the photo you requested and my profile/statement below.
I am a Colombian artist, currently finishing my master's degree in Public Art and New Artistic Strategies at the Bauhaus University in Weimar, Germany. My work reflects on the poetics and politics of the body. In recent years I have been interested in the dynamics of bodies in public space and their potential for social change through artistic interventions that interrupt everyday life. I have approached the pedagogical and participatory in search of impacting wider audiences outside the artistic spheres.
I have exhibited my work in solo and group shows in different countries like Colombia, Argentina, and Germany. Recently, I participated in Documenta 15, (Kassel,2022) and Premio Arte Jóven (Bogotá,2022).

Mein Projekt zeichnet sich durch seine besondere Relevanz und den Fokus auf das Thema "Inklusion" aus. Es ist mir persönlich sehr wichtig, mich mit dieser Thematik auseinanderzusetzen. Dabei geht es
nicht nur um die Zugänglichkeit von Design für körperlich beeinträchtigte Menschen, sondern auch um die Bedürfnisse und Herausforderungen neurodivergenter Personen. [...]
Die Relevanz meines Projekts liegt darin, dass es dazu beiträgt, Barrieren abzubauen und die inklusive Gestaltung in verschiedenen Bereichen zu fördern. Indem ich mich mit der Frage beschäftige, wie
Design für alle Menschen zugänglich gemacht werden kann, trage ich dazu bei, eine inklusivere und gerechtere Gesellschaft zu schaffen.
Durch meine persönlichen Bezugspunkte und meine Leidenschaft für dieses Thema bin ich fest davon überzeugt, dass mein Projekt einen bedeutenden Beitrag leisten kann und dass es eine nachhaltige
Wirkung in der Designbranche und darüber hinaus haben kann.

Public Art and New Artistic Strategies (Master)
My work concerns breaking the structural meaning of the text by the intersections of photography, writing, and cinema. Through formats and materials such as photobooks, video installations, films, and writings, I explore the fragility and temporality of everyday life. From this standpoint, I question the city as an organism, the street as stories, the evocation of the landscape, the gestures of intimacy, and grief. Thus, I move from words to images drawing narrative spaces that enunciate the movements of the body over language and its forms.
Currently, I am doing my master´s in Public Art and New Artistic Strategies at the Bauhaus-Universität. I also studied Social Communication and Journalism at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (Medellin, Colombia), where I have also performed as a teacher. I work as an artist, writer, and independent curator. In 2022, I published my first book "Los perros esperan bajo la sombra" (The dogs wait under the shadow) funded by the Ministery of Culture in Colombia. In 2015 I obtained the Creation Grant for foreigners in Mexico. In 2014 I did an internship at the Institute of Aesthetic Research, UNAM (Mexico City). As an academic, I have researched imagery, literature, and cinema. These investigations have pointed to the publication of some books in Colombia. As an artist, I have exhibited my work in Colombia, Mexico, Germany, Cuba, the USA, and Spain.

Growing up in this fluid landscape with over 700 rivers and tributaries, has instilled in me the ability to adapt to new situations with a positive mindset, as we had to navigate
the ever-changing landscape every day. My four years of experience in practicing
architecture, from site studies to construction projects, has honed my skills in engaging with communities and understanding their emotions. Working with various
communities taught me how to effectively engage with people and understand their emotions.
Drawing from my experience working on Refugee projects, I am confident in my ability to construct structures quickly under challenging circumstances. Pursuing my master's degree in
Germany at Bauhaus University has been incredibly
beneficial, as it exposed me to different architectural contexts.[...]

Dear Mr Johannes,
I, Yasir Saleh Muhammad, have been studying MFA at Bauhaus University for 4 years. I have been creating audio-visual art since my first semester here. Currently, for my Master's thesis, I am working on a narrative film based on the real life of a foreign student in Germany. I believe that this will bring different audiences and different cultures together and will create an open space for everyone. This project requires a lot of time and research and I am truly thankful to the Johannes Alexander Schroth Foundation for providing me this funding that helps me focus on my thesis project.
